BUSINESS MODEL

Viron's business model focuses on the identification and development of viral proteins that exhibit potent therapeutic potential. With a robust pipeline of high quality candidates, including 1 clinical, 5 preclinical and several discovery drug candidates, management is constantly balancing the need for advancement of priority programs with the need for continued development of the Company's growing and sustainable pipeline. Since its inception, Viron's business model has been focused on advancing its lead compound VT-111 through pre-clinical and early clinical development (Phase I and II). Identification of the right partner for VT-111 at the Phase II level of development will balance the needs for value creation through continued clinical advancement, with the longer term objective of demonstrating the sustainability of Viron's approach to treating a wide variety of distinct inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

OUT-LICENSING OPPORTUNITIES
Clinical:  Viron is open to developing key strategic alliances for its VT-111a program, while it prepares to advance the program into a Phase 2b study.  We are open to collaborating on this lead asset with the right partner.

Preclinical / Discovery Stage: Viron has recently commenced a collaboration with a leading ophthalmic company to investigate the utility of three of the Company's anti-inflammatory compounds for the treatment of ophthalmic inflammatory disorders (terms not disclosed). This opportunity highlights the potential of our pipeline in areas outside of our primary focus, which is inflammation associated with cardiac disease (VT-111a), transplantation (VT-111b), rheumatoid arthritis (VT-346) and Crohn's (VT-384). Given the size of our pipeline and the prolific nature of our discovery platform, we see collaborations as the most efficient way to build value while remaining focused on core programs.

IN-LICENSING OPPORTUNITIES

Viron is focused on inflammatory and auto-immune based diseases. In-licensing opportunities complementary to Viron's existing developments will be evaluated based on relevant data associated with preclinical/clinical proof of principle, mechanism of action, toxicology, safety and market potential.
