BUSINESS MODEL

Viron's business model focuses on the identification and development of viral proteins that exhibit potent therapeutic potential. With a wealth of high potential products in our pipeline, including 1 clinical, 6 preclinical and several discovery drug candidates, management is constantly balancing the need for advancement of priority programs with the need for continued development of the company's growing and sustainable pipeline. Since its inception, Viron's business model has been focused on advancing our "proof of concept" lead compound VT-111 through pre-clinical and early clinical development (Phase I and II). Identification of the right partner for VT-111 at the Phase II level of development will balance the needs for value creation through continued clinical advancement, with the longer term objective of demonstrating the sustainability of Viron's approach to treating a wide variety of distinct inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

OUT-LICENSING OPPORTUNITIES

Clinical stage: Viron is currently in discussions with leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies regarding a possible alliance with its lead clinical drug candidate, VT-111. Viron is currently investigating VT-111 in a Phase II trial in patients with Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS) and will soon be submitting an IND for its second indication, the prevention of chronic organ rejection in transplant patients.

Preclinical / Discovery Stage: Viron is also evaluating key strategic alliances for its discovery and preclinical drug candidates.

IN-LICENSING OPPORTUNITIES

Viron is focused on inflammatory and auto-immune based diseases. In-licensing opportunities will be evaluated by our team based on the complementarity to Viron's internal drug development programs and a careful evaluation of relevant data associated with preclinical/clinical proof of principle, mechanism of action, tox, safety and market potential.
