CORPORATE OVERVIEW

Viron discovers and commercializes potent biologics that modulate key steps in the inflammatory cascade. Viron is the first company to successfully advance a viral protein as a therapeutic agent into human clinical testing. Through millions of years of co-evolution with their hosts, viruses have been able to mutate, adapt and overcome detection and clearance by the immune system. Viron uses the virus to identify proteins targeting key molecular and cellular targets that regulate critical pathways of the human immune system. The Company then makes synthetic proteins using standard recombinant techniques.

Viron's novel approach to drug discovery has produced some of the most potent anti-inflammatory molecules ever developed. Viron's proprietary viral screening program, PROSPECTTM - PROtein Screen for Pathogen-Evolved Combined Therapeutics, enables the identification and prioritization of candidates with the highest commercial potential.

Viron's significant pipeline of products target critical pathways that have broad application to immune and inflammatory-based diseases such as cardiovascular disease, transplant and rheumatoid arthritis. The Company recently completed a successful Phase 2a study with its lead compound, VT-111, in Acute Coronary Syndrome patients receiving cardiovascular stents.  Viron is preparing to commence a Phase 2b study in 2011. Viron's pipeline of additional compounds in preclinical development, combined with a robust discovery program, strongly positions the Company to be a leader in the discovery and commercialization of bio-therapeutics to treat inflammatory-based diseases.
